Manual transmission mantinence

lol no. The only things that will wear out and need to be replaced if you drive it correctly would be the transmission fluid and clutches wear out but I've never had to

Just make sure to keep the clutch in long enough so your gears don't grind.

The sound is utter death and haunts my dreams.

That too lol. If you shift before the clutch is in all the way or pull the clutch out early and it grinds it won't be good. Manuals have things called synchros and if you wear those out from grinding, your gears will start to grind just driving normal.

Well, it depends on what car, driver, driving environment, and car's condition.

A small 4-cyl car goes thru clutches faster than a bigger engined car. The larger engine has a beefier clutch behind it factory, and has more low-end torque to take off.'

A novice or careless driver will burn up a clutch fast.

A hilly or urban environment is harder than a rural setting. Stop and go driving is awful on any car.

A car in good condtion will have more power, thereby removing need to slip clutch to accelerate.

Use your head when you drive, and dont use the clutch to shift anyways, that's for fake drifters and noobs. I drive everything from a 240sx to my Pete without clutching every gear change. Less times you work the clutch, the longer it lasts.

That last part isn't necessarily true, but for a majority of the time it can be.
