One thing, if you have any lower back issues -- especially sciatica (sp?) --- hitting that clutch can be a b!tch. Also, you may be able to handle the clutch on one vehicle with no problem and the next will hit it just wrong.

i have sciatica and its not too bad.

however, when completely inflamed...yea, good luck lol

For an inline 6, that's been blown apart and rebuilt about 3 different times now, it has some low end power on it for sure.

we have this old toyota truck, had a 4cy and a 5 speed in it, that thin was hella fun to drive, clutch was bad burnt out in it, but it was real easy to drive

I deliver pizzas in a manual car. Put nearly 100 miles a day in city. I am to the point where I don't even notice the shifting. I don't think I could ever go back to auto.

I drove a Ford Explorer for a few weeks with no problems. Drove a 4Runner for one day and it caused me problems.

However, I have no more problems.

Yeah the past couple of days have been pretty rough on me. Pushing the clutch in does hurt quite a bit, but it doesn't hurt much more than just sitting in the car for me, I can't get comfortable in my car with my back problem

Well, I know the one we had was bad. My dad, who's been driving a clutch since he was 15 and even used to driving high powered cars (used to own a Ford Maverick when I was younger) couldn't get the truck going without hopping it up and down a good 2 times.

Lots of great tips here, I like the shift to neutral part while you in slow moving traffic, its a ***** to learn at first, but after that its lots of fun to drive, my enemy was the hills too.

I am new to learning to drive a stick too, and learning isn't so easy on my bro's 06 Mustang. But I'm starting to learn it better and i think my next car will be a stick hopefully.

Yall think trying to learn on an upgraded clutch in your little import is hard...try learning in a huge 92' Ford F-150 with a completely burned out clutch. You'll be able to drive anything after that.

i stand by my statement that a nissan 350Z's clutch/gearbox is worse...

im trying to decide if i will like driving manual for everday, there are a good bit of times where i want to drive a manual, but im not sure about the other times, i can drive a manual, not the best yet, but i can drive oneive thought about renting a car and driving it for a few days, but i cant find any manual cars to rent

any input on daily driving with a manual

Try learning in an 80's Peterbilt, and going to a 1989 Toyota MR2. the gearbox feels like it is full of rocks, and i wouldnt trade it for any other car.
