Read one of my above posts. It's lifeless. Anybody and their mother can drive it fast. There is no self reward for fast lap times. Now if you can drive a Z06 around a track fast, there is a lot of self reward. Manual + no stability control = win

Anyway back to the topic at hand. The best is usually a dual-clutch Semiautomatic, followed by manual, followed by a standard torque converter automatics. Of course there are exceptions to these 3.

So then what you are saying is that all racing should be 100% controlled by electronic aids, so it rules out driver talent?

I still don't understand why you act like you enjoy driving a car. I get bored out of my mind when all I have to do is steer. Hell if it stays that way, you would rather the cars just drive themselves because it's more fun that way. Why don't you just sit in the passenger seat and "enjoy" someone else racing your car around for you?

And I never said technology is useless. Driver aids are there for the playstation generation, aka yourself. People don't care about driving anymore.

And no, it's not like your analogy. That's a situation where technology is required or else death ensues. That is totally irrelevant.

I didn't read any of this thread but I will say this (having 2 cars both manual)

The only time you need automatic car is when YOU KNOW your daily route to work everyday is getting stuck in traffic ALL THE TIME.

and the only other time automatic comes into play is with a track car with over 800 horsepower.

everything in between should be manual.

However, manuals are still useful in traffic. For one, it keeps you more awake. I still manage to almost fall asleep in traffic, but were I in an auto, I probably would lol. Manuals are also good in traffic if there is an asshole with some sonys bumpin and you have no exhaust on your F150 that sounds like a dam 10 second mustang and you want to teach the little bitch to turn the volume down when he is in traffic.
