is this possible, and how do you do it? or can i just shorten my existing RCA's via sodering? ive decided to move my amps from my trunk to under my seat, and it's a pain in the *** to try to hide the 10+ ft of extra RCA's under the carpet

any suggestions?

thanks

Joe.

not exactly what u r looking for, but i have had that problem before, and what i did was roll up the rca's a bit, zip tie them so they wouldnt come loose, andthen zip tied them to the underside of the seat, worked well in my case

While certainly what you've proposed is possible (physically shortening them by cutting/splicing/resoldering) and cheaper than buying new interconnects altogether IMO just buying shorter cables would present enough of an avoided headache to make it worth the expense.

plus... now that i see you are changing cars... when u change cars, u may still want the additional length //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

good call, and thank's i think ill try zip tying them and tucking it under the seat.. never even thought of that one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can buy RCA connectors at your local radioshack. It's not hard at all if you have a decent soldering iron.

I'd buy the gold connectors for the extra bling. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I bet you can find some cables in these threads that cost more than your subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've made a couple mini-to-mini's (headphone interconnects) and I'd have to say it's quite a pain and probably not worth your time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

EDIT: BUT if you use techflex over the wires, nice plugs, and shrink wrap it real nice, you can get some REALLY nice looking cables! Just look through the thread.

the cable inside are 2 cables.....one inside a sheath and one that wraps around that......cut/short/reconnect with sodder or electrical tape...ur good to go...make sure them wires ever touch though (or even better done have ur HU on lol)
