making a sphere sub enclosure

what ways could i go about doing this? the best way i can think of is to fiberglass around a beachball or something the same size and cut the parts out to fit the sub. you guys got any other ideas.

sh!t i forgot this was the car section but whatever. i entend to use it in my house not my car. and its not gonna be a complete sphere its gonna have a flat bottom to keep from rollin. i just think it would look neat.

How big are you looking for, and does it matter if its not a sphere on the inside?

You'd still have to have a flat surface to mount the sub to.

i would think fiberglassing over a beachball would be ideal.

really interesting thought you have there. if sanded to perfection it would look awesome painted.

its gonna be a few cubic feet inside. probably about the size of a large beach ball. and the way i plan to build it would make the inside also round with except for the flat area for the sub to mount, the bottom to keep it from rolling unless i use some sort of legs to have it off the ground, the aero port and the wire hookups.

Or a rubber exercise ball covered in fiberglass fitted to a flat MDF bottom. Sounds interesting...

im basically gonna make the ball then cut the hole for the sub then fiberglass a mounting ring into it

We glassed over 4 beachballs in the back of a Navigator. It works very well.

Use CA glue to mount the rings while you glass. No need for tape and foil, when your done just pop the ball.
