making a port

i guess im looking at two options. pvc tubing or making it with mdf board in the box...

the mdf board is probably a better idea, however wouldnt it be much easier to just do the pvc tubing?

if i were to do the pvc tubing. can i just get it from a hardware store? and how many inches thick do you think it would need to be? (one for each 12 sub both in sperate chambers of my enclosure i am buidling.) how long should it be? how far away from the back of the enclosure should it be etc?.... thanks alot.

Just make sure to look at the "straight length port"

I would go 4" port to decrease port noise as much as possible.

MDF or PVC, doesnt matter as long as you subtract the port volume from the total volume.
