Does the head unit still power ur speakers too if u got a amp for them.

Example

JL audio 300/4 amp runnin 75x4 and i was lookin at a alpine HU doin 18x4 RMS so will it be 93x4 all together???

No.

If you're using an external amplifier, you're using the RCA (low-level) pre-outs from the deck, and the internal amplifier is shut off.

Some HU's give you the feature to turn the inner amp on and off.
