Is the negative of a battery the same as a ground? If not, what lying around the house considered a ground? I want something where I can look at it.

ye, u just gotta disconnect the remote whenever you wanna shut the amp off

mhm jus attach it to the pos side. and take it off when you want the amp to cut off

that diode wont be dead unless the speaker polarity to the amp has been reversed.

its simply a diode across the battery input, after the fuses, so that if the battery is connected the wrong way, the diode will appear as a short circuit, and hopefully blow the fuse...

it happened to me 2 times, sent it in for repair, and then it did it again. i'm thinking there might be a problem in the merlin line.

I don't know...all the fuses are blow so I will probably have to wait until tomorrow. I have lower rated fuses to try unless you think it will instantly blow them. I have one 25 , 15 , and a 20. Do you think it would automatically blow them?

I don't want to blam US AMPS just yet, but nothing was hooked up wrong...
