Magic Smoke?

I guess I should begin at the first....

I was setting my gains with a DMM and I think the prongs crossed. Then, the amp went into protect and I tried re-hooking it back up and nothing happened.

No big deal, so I uninstalled everything and rebuilt my amp rack.

Fast forward until today.

I hooked up my amp and noticed that it didn't work. I saw that all three fuses where shot. I went up to advance auto and replaced the fuses. The first fuse I put it blew immediately. I thought this was because the battery cable was hooked up. I unhooked the battery and then installed the fuses. As soon I go back to adjust the gains, I see the smoke. I check the fuses and they are all okay. I loked around and thought maybe a loose strand caused a short and didn't really see anything. I rehooked up the battery with a friend watching the amp. She said she saw a spark near the terminals where you input the + and - . I then totally uninstalled the amp and looked inside. i don't see anything burned up or black. It definitely has a smell to it. Any suggestions?

look inside again, check everything re install it, if it still doesnt work, get it repaired.

I got some excess wire and hook it up or something. I am unsure if buying a new amp will help if there is something else wrong. Would it matter if the ground is 0 ga and the + is 4 ga?

It's the 2 channel. The MD3D is just fine.

If the amp is drawing less current than the length of 4awg is rated for, absolutely nothing at all.

ive always heard they need to be the same size, my guess is that the flow of power will be restricted and as a result could build up in an internal component.....or something.
