They started out being very popular in IB for home audio, then a few guys in the car audio world, caught wind of Mach5 and you know the rest.

By that, do you mean they aren't being used in IB car audio setups?

That, I am not sure of, I have not seen any IB 18" installs for a car or truck yet.

Well, after nearly a week with the MJ, I can completely honestly say that I am very satisfied. It is so tight, crisp, accurate and punchy. It is PERFECT for the kind of music I listen to. It's never half-hearted... it always attacks basslines with authority and confidence. I've played it high and low, and it just asks for more. It has very impressive low-end. After some break-in time and tweaking (the most noticeable change was swapping the phase), it seems to have gained some clarity.

One thing that thoroughly surprised me is the output. I wasn't expecting much, because it is has lower power handling and excursion, and its in a sealed enclosure. I mean, it's nothing extremely special... definitely not as loud as my L7 (Although it had nearly 4x the power, and was ported), but it will still get up and boogie for a sealed sub on 600w. It is very efficient.
