I would never buy a used high current amp as you have no idea how hard it would have been driven by a previous owner. When you run an amp at those low impedances you really shorten the lifespan of the switching devices. This is why you don't see a lot of the old school high current/cheater amps for sale as most have been smoked long ago. Ask anyone with an old Soundstream Reference how hard it is to find a good board or ask someone with a few Punch 50's how hard those things are to repair.
