MA Audio

MA Audio is a low quality product that looks good but sounds bad, had my experience with MA and ill never buy another product from that Company again(just my 2 cents)

I don't mean to bring back an old thread, but what makes MA Audio so bad? My DXI's kicked some *** at the Virignia Beach Mecca Competition recently. I was planning on upgrading to a single 15" Synergy.... why are they bad quality?

The Synergy is not that bad...it is not of great quality though...you are risking blowing the sub big time if you send it a burst of more than 1300 watts...

i got a buddy who is has a full sponsorhip from MA audio. at a bbq i was at for the audio team he's on, we talked about my car and setup b/c i currently am running 1 ma audio 1000watt rms amp that i love. he was saying there new line of amps are great he loves them and personally has used there HC amps and Class X amps, recommends them if you can find a good price on them if not then don't get em b/c they are pricey. the synergy subs he said are pieces of crap don't buy em you can find many many dif. subs that sound better and are better. he won't touch an MA sub period, so i would just take it from him and not touch there subs.

Yea, but i already have MA audio and its great. I compared my low model DXI subs to Kappa perfect and mine performed better. It wouldnt make sense that synergy can only handle bursts of 1300 if the RMS is rated 1500.... They are supposed to handle 3,000 max. I don't judge equipment without hearing it for myself. Why would the company say it handles twice as much as it can? It just doenst make much sense.

the adire brahma can't handle more than a few burps of anything over 1500watts rms. and they put a 4800peak wattage on them suckers. ok he had 2 15" synergy subs in his truck custom built box and amp rack whole 9 yards. they say 3000watts peak per sub so a total of 6000 watts is what they should take, he strapped on 2 1500watt rms amps for the both and they only put out a max of 1800watts, so that makes a rms level of 3000, and peak of 3600. those subs couldn't handle more than a 3 second burp without popping. hell we hooked 2 per sub up for a pure spl burp one time and they blew in a matter of 30 seconds.

Ok help me out then. I need a sub for under $300 that handles 1500 watt. It has to look nice too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Havent decided 12" or 15"

(synergy 15" is 260 shipped new)

well for around 300 there are plenty of sub choices out there, now may i ask does it have to be a single sub that handles that much?? cause if so with only that amount of money, your gonna need like a juggy from ebay or something along those lines. what kind of amp you running and all that.

adam

Also, yes i want only one sub. If i get a sub this powerful, the box size will need to be about 1.75 cubic feet sealed. That is already cutting it close in my car. Juggernaut (sp) is good?

(DEI are benched a little better than JBL 1200D)

alright so you need something that'll handle roughly 1200-1300watts ish rms. and for around 300 bucks or so, i would say a juggy would be great sub of choice just not sure if it can be in that small of a box or not. ask rangerman he has a juggy. oh and about the SPL side of them there almost as good as say a DD sub or so i've been told.
