MA Audio HK802SX help

I got a Ma audio hx802sk amp and i've been running it at 2 ohms to 4 12's and i've had it in ever since florida state finals and had no problems with it and all of a sudden today im driving and not jamming on it had the amp not even 1/8 of the way up and on the eq abot 1/4 the way up and the hu at 20 of 35 and i dont hear bass i stopped at the gas station and popped the trunk and that ***** is in protect. no smokin burning or any loose wires took it out the car and open it up no burn marks burn smells aside from it being a tad dirty nothing out the ordinary. look up some info and according to ma audio only time the protection light comes on is- Protection Indicator LED: This LED turns on when any of the following occurs:

o Any speaker cable shorted to the vehicles chassis (ground).

o Shorted speaker voice coil (zero impedance).

o Combined speaker impedance is too low.(check wiring diagram)

o Turns on due to excessive heat sink temperatures.

checked all that, hooked it up to a UPS and still goes into protect...

any ideas or suggestions??? help will be greatly appreciated

Its an MA audio amp, POS, but they have a great warranty. Send it back, wait 2-3 months. Theyll send you a new one then. I remember i had a 1200w mono amp similar to yours, dont remember model number, but one day i grounded out the pos terminal by accident and screwed up something in the amp. Sent it back october 12th of last year, got it back feb 3rd of this year. Sold it the day after i got it back. I called numerous times asking about my replacement and they said "its on the way, well email you a tracking number" About a month after not seeing it, i called, spoke to the supervisor, and he went and found my amp laying on a cabinet in their warehouse with the shipping label and everything, i got it 6 days after that call.

Swapped that out for my M500-then an M1000, my 1000 blew the other day, sent it back last monday, and my replacement will be here this monday. Alpine CS ftmfw.

I had no problem with Anaba's CS.They replaced my sub within 10 days to my door.

The 802 is the high current design that MA produced. It requires a heavy electrical to back it even for nonminal play.I would say if it wasn't a thermal protect(amp over heating)then you probably damaged the board sometime ago and it just finialy let lose.

thermal protect for the amp is 160+ and sometime 200+ depends on the heat sink but either way has never been pass 139. and when it quit it was at 113

How long have you owned this amp. And has been your eletrical over the years behind it. Could be just its time. I have you hooked it back up since you made this post.

lmao i had mine at 194 the other day when i wasnt payin attention and didnt realize that i had accidently hit the lpf and turned it to full and played it for an hour. protect didnt come on at all. but i have found that on some burps it will go into pro.

i've had it for about a month or 2... its been on my electrical since i've had it. and i havent hooked it back up in the car i dont want to risk blowing something so ima going to be taking it to amp medics in tampa, sometime this week
