I am considering each of these amps. There is also a XX colussus 2, which is in similar price range and similar wattage. I am looking to power two 2-ohm DVC, so I need good power at 2 x 1 ohm or 2ohm. I e-mailed MA Audio about the HK802-SX to see what it puts out at 14.4/

I have the 204sx.

Puts out tons of grunt power but isn't very dynamic.

Very, very power hungry.

Can't imagine trying to supply the 802sx with enough power.

The 17 volts is what concerns me. I have big 3, optima, and 0 ga wire running to the amp. I get 14.4 pretty consistently.

I could put the optima in the back and run a normal battery up front, which would work. Go back to the 4 ga to "car battery" and have an 0/ga to optima and should be good to go, eh?

i would not by that amp that wattage clame is at 17 volts not the normal 13.8 an average alt wil give or for that matter upgraded alt will only give you about 14.5 to 15 volts at the most thats not close to what you need. if i was you look for a different amp such as the autoteck 4000.1 the are rated at 13.8 volts to put out 4000 rms at 2ohms and will run at 1 for a daly driver to give you around 7 to 8000 rms and just get a little warm to the touch. what subs do you have that require that much power and what ohm load are they.
