MA Audio Amps any good?

There is a shop in town that has a MA Audio HK4000D on sale for $499 and its brand new with 1 year waranty and I am seriously thinking about beefing my system up this summer and I dont want to pass this amp up if it does good rated power. I am running a Hifonics BXi1606 right now but I dont think it will be enough power for what I am wanting to do in the next few months. Its rated at 3600x1@2ohms at 14.4V I think... The answer to your question: not really.

They do rated power just fine as long as you have electrical upgrades to feed the amp well. Plus you have to have a remote power wire with a relay on it that feeds power right from a battery to the remote turn on lead to keep the voltage consistant or the amp will behave as its going into protection mode. You'll also need at least one extra battery and possibly even an alternator upgrade.

Lets just say, ive got a "little" experience with HK motherboards, lol...

Yes and no, refer to the Visonik website for furthor information (its the same board as the MA amp, all HK series are essentially the same)

The class X ones are rated to both 14.4 and 17v. In my application my modded HK4000D was louder at .75 ohm than a single Orion 2500D at .35 ohm. (When I could get the MA to stay on!) Although the HK lacked quite a bit of SQ compared to the orion, and driven daily the HK would shut off on me a lot due to voltage.

-Run em 17v and they are great imo. It will beat the piss out of the Hifonics amp you have now, but they need power like what was said.

I miss my Visonik, when I was at the car wash earlier bumpn' my shit while i was washing the jeep, I could notice that I didnt move the rafters on the building near as much when it was turned up. I fear I wont do well at a soundoff here in kentucky im going to tomorrow... Orion FTL
