I just bought a ma audio 1600 watt hardkore series amp and was wondering if anybody has one and what they think about it. It's going to be pushing a kicker comp cvx 15 in a custom subthump box in a 1999 Firebird.

I just bought a ma audio 1600 watt hardkore series amp and was wondering if anybody has one and what they think about it. It's going to be pushing a kicker comp cvx 15 in a custom subthump box in a 1999 Firebird.

The HK series were not that bad of a line from MA, they were just power hungry for volts. They will do close to there rated power, just make sure you keep the voltage above 12 volts or it will blow up. The HK series class d amps have a non regulated power supply and if you run it with poor voltage the power supply section of the amp will fail. I have a HK4000D and a V4000XD that I modded so they can run at 1ohm, they work fine but I run them at around 17 volts.
