Lower Resistence equal less response?

i have a 12" IDmax, v3 D2. I'll be powering it with a Hifonics bxi1208. If i wire it parallel to get 1 ohm do i lose response? Or would 4 ohms be enough power for it and more reponse? Does it play a factor at all? Also going to SQ, not SPL

Did a search however it timed out three times in a row, so forgive me if this has already been asked

The only difference that you will hear is that wiring to 1 ohm will have the potential to get noticably louder.
