Lower my Sub Hz

What device can I use to lower my head unit low pass filter (LPF) for my sub response. The lowest I can set it is to 78Hz.

Another question if I may add. My amp (Kenwood) remote bass nob drops them to 40Hz (at least thats what I have them set to).

But can I drop it lower?

if you want to cross the lpf lower than what you have on the head unit, you will need an external crossover, perhaps something from coustic or audio control etc. And using the bass boost will only boost 40hz not cross your subs at 40hz

why do you want it lower than that? Also no your bass knob is not dropping anything, its boosting 40hz

the kenwood amps have adjustable boost frequency.....

to the OP, why would you want to have LPF below 80?

i usually run my x overs at about 65hz or lower sooo. but i have a rockford 360.2 i have a Coustic 3 way crossover that goes all the way down to about 20hz i believe.. id take $20 for it picked up in LEX...

x2, except i cross at 63hz/18db.
i did have it the same until i added my 2nd set of midbass. because the mids get low, i turned the c/o point down on the subs to knock a little of the "punchiness" down. the kick bass in rock can be overbearing sometimes when they both play those frequencies.

Yeah I want to at least cross them at 50 ~ 60. Around there will be fine for me. So a crossover will do the trick for me?

Is there price in the quality? or it doesn't matter much?

I seen a (boss audio electronic subwoofer crossover) for $40

and a kicker 2-way crossover for about $80.
