Low-Hz (Free Mag or Cash Reward!!!)

i knwo all of this as i am a computer programmer, i know a thing or 2.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/2thumbs.gif.fdc3ba010dbb42b61704534b46d02fe4.gif for you.

I knew most that and i open boxes for a living //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

if it was a hack job there was a static IP (meaning there was a fulltime live connection like dsl or cable or DS1, or DS3 lines) i dont know how good a hack job on a website with the amount of infot hat is on there that can be done on a dial up (dynamic ip. means a new IP is assigned each log on)
Well it is possible to have a dynamic IP on broadband... DSL uses dynamic IPs usually. But ISPs have logs of which account was using that IP and at what time.

What it boils down to is revenge is indeed sweet, but at what price. There is a reason why you don't see many computer crime prosecutions. Its usually not worth the time/money, not to mention the bad publicity of communicating to the world that your website that people are supposed to trust putting their CC# into got hacked.

Smartest move would be to put it behind you, get rebuilt, and get secure. Then hope this issue quickly moves from peoples minds.

Yep, just like I said.

i beg to differ just because on a dsl line you can disconnect from the server doesnt mean you get a new IP address, you have a HARD line to the server, the sockets on the server would have to be changed inorder to give you a new IP address.

you might be confusing your wireless route giving you a differnt IP to use everytime you log on, that is int"ra"net not int"er"net

it is possible but i know of NONE that do.

AT&T doesnt, roadrunner, earthlink, aol none of them do they are using non proprietary software.

not calling you a liar but can you tell what DSL company uses dynamic IP's, i knwo of none and i work with several of the big incumbent carriers that supply the back bone of the internet (when it all comes down to it thou they all pass thru goverment owned and controled mainframes)

in agreeing with the people who say "leave and let be" i say if the person's who's IP you did trace is a "bad" guy, who you believe could of done this then make his name public. Not address phone # etc.. but just user names on the forums.

Uh, I used to run BellSouth Fast Access DSL before I went with Comcast 8 mbit, and you could unplug your modem for 60 seconds and reconnect with a new IP address. Not from the router, from the modem. The outside would see my new IP address.

Kenny no sense arguing with know it alls, continued arguing is all you get, even if your right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Anyhow, I found your hacker, so give me my mag:

Thanks for all the info guys.

And I am not to worried about people finding out about the Hack. I don't store any CC information on there for more than a VERY brief period of time. The reason for that being that things like this can happen. So no customers are ever at risk.

It would just be nice to know who did it, and to find out why he/she did it. Not sure why someone would spend the time to change the Low-Hz.com site, but I guess they thought it was funny.

is that the bottom of a coffee can

Ben just keep this in mind and it will help you throughout this whole ordeal: your site was "hacked" because someone, somewhere is jealous of your company. I'm not saying it was right to do at all, but don't stress over it bro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I understand your curiosity... but when the site goes back up everything will be back to normal in no time.

j00 got hax0rd y0.

But for real that **** man, I hope you do atleast find out who it was even tho i doubt they will ever be convicted.....but on the other hand wouldnt a website be personal property? Mabe you can get them on that.

My aDSL now is also dynamic, but its a small local phone company.

wouldnt anyone using DHCP technically be a dynamic IP?

And i tohught with ATT you had to pay extra to get a static IP..
