LOVE STORY; Kicker zx1000 blew my fi Q / Need Help

Ok, so I have a kicker zx1000 hooked up to a fiQ 15 inch and it sounds like sweet **** butter lathered on a fresh baked bisquit. I love my sub and have personally made love to it multiple times. Unfortunately, I hopped into my truck the other day, anxiously anticipating the endorphins about to be released from listening to Roy Buchannan on the way to work, and my beloved Q wasn't putting out. I tested my amp and it is fine but the sub is just making a slight burp when it should br making sweet **** sounds. I'm not sure what is wrong with it, but I'm giving it to my brother to fix and keep. He's a good dude and I want him to have it.

Which leads to my question; is there any SQ sub that sounds just as sweet as my Q. I want to get an 18'' Q just for shits and gigs or a W6. Does anyone have experience with a 15 q vs a 18q and how do these subs compare to a W6? Thanks for the help!

you must have your gains set wrong, or are getting clipping from some your source unit.

personally ive had many w6s right now in my work car i have 2 13 w6s with a fosgate t1500 on each for about a year now max power before clipping, they sound great with every type of music, and get pretty loud.

My amp is only 1000w rms and those require 3000w rms

Would a zx1000 overpower a w6?
right could always go bigger.

absolutely not i give mine at least 1200rms daily

i have mine set with my oscope and an rta though.

if you don't have access to either the dmm method should work fine.

sounds like broken leads.

as said above i rebuild these all the time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Is this a blue or blue/white wire from the Kenwood? The ACC wire is red and although that should turn on the amp, it is not the prefered wiring...
