Loudest vocal coax?

Alright, currently my door speakers are 6.5 sony (idk model #)

Back speakers are sony 6x9 (rear fill is nice, I like these)

Amped up by an MRP 240 with the HPF of 80 hz on.

Also I have 4 Audiobahn silk dome tweeters on the dash running off my deck.

So, I just want to either swap out my front speakers for some louder coaxials or just pump some more power to em.

I'm also debating on buying a new amp (Prolly a DSC 480 or an MTX 604 4 channel off this forum) and just amp my tweeters and my speakers @ 2 ohm

Problem is I'd prolly blow everything with the MTX, the vocals sound good but distort at ~40 out of 52 and I just want more now

Don't wanna bust for more than $100 if I'm buying an amp too.

reason I want coax is cuz I don't want different brand tweeters on the dash

the reason they sound like shiz on high volume is cus the signal isnt nearly as clear from a head unit as it is an amp, your head unit is struggling to do about 17 rms when an amp can give out 50 flawlessy. your gona need a decent amp to run active on tweeters so get rid of what you have get 2 amps or one that u can wire 2 tweeters per channel and front coaxials on. then hook rear 6x9s for fill to headunit, or keep you 240, bridge it and run the 6x9s off that.

It's not just the tweeters that sound like shiz though, everything above 1khz sounds terrible above 40 but before it sounds exactly how I like it.

So I should just leave the sony's in the door and get a bigger amp is your opinion?

I'd have them hooked up to this amp most likely

ya thats your headunit, if you run the tweeters off an amp it wont be like that and theyll get more power, im pretty sure you shouldnt be running tewwters off your headunit anyways, tweeters are good for highs some can start around 2,000hz, when you run them off the headunit your giving them lows and who the F else knows, you can fry them like that easily, when you turn them up and you get a low note they will distort their azz off.

They have crossovers on them

Your HU is more than likely the problem with the distortion since you're turning it up to 40 out of 52, which is more than likely higher than it is capable of playing with a clean signal. What HU do you have? You have a big ball of awful going on as far as speaker choice, quantity, and location goes...it's hard to tell you where to start.

agreed... this is a big cluster FU%#%#.. way too may issues.. sonys arnt even worth an amp... thats like putting nitrous on an automatic 95 cavalier .... you could.. but why would you?

RUn only amps and if you have the option on HU turn the Amp on it off.. so no output from it other than pre-outs..

thats how i have mine.. let the amps do all the work and your HU only process the signal.. :p get rid of the sony and Ab.... I mean at the least you can get some RF's for cheap..

also having 4 tweets is going to make staging a bit of an issue, as well as tuning, but that all depends on how you have them set up,
sometimes less is more, especially when that makes things more efficient.
Efficiency is the way to go. Saves money and usually gives you better quality and performance.
