Louder? 3 12" L5's or 2 15" L5's

Well, based on pure surface area, the 2 15's would be louder...

3 12" speakers: 339.12" of cone area

2 15" speakers: 353.25" of cone area

Actually, that's with round cones... I forgot we're talking L5's...

And with those calculations, we get...

3 12" speakers: 432" of cone area

2 15" speakers: 450" of cone area

So, anyway we slice it, the 15's win!

+ It's more practical to work with 2 subs as opposed to 3.

15's FTW!!!!!

I'm not getting how 2 15's have more cone area than 3 12's...2*15=30 3*12=36???
