I'm pretty sure 2 sealed would be louder then 1 ported and whats the xmax on the mag becuase the H2 is 29 which is pretty f***in high

Not always //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Depends on the sub(s), power, enclosure and tuning, etc....but yes, it's possible for 1 ported sub to have a peak output that's louder than 2 sealed.

Porting generally increases output 3db over the entire bandwidth over the same sub sealed. But the ported enclosure can have a peak over sealed that's 6-9db higher over a narrow range of frequencies.

Whereas doubling cone area sealed without doubling the power yields a theoretical 3db increase. Doubling cone area and power theoretically yields a 6db increase.

If that makes any sense.

I guess it depends on how much more we are talking about.....I haven't done the calculations since late last night (and I was drinking last night //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif ), but I seem to recall that both the Mag & Rl-p had about 20% more displacement than the L7, using stated figures.

Also look at price. Even unathorized, a 13W7 is still around 500...where a 15 mag is under 400 new, straight from SI, not to mention the guys from SI are great to deal with....plus the mags still murder with low power..

the L7 has a unique T-cut top plate and it actually leaves more coil in the gap, so more motor to cool it. Where a conventional flat top plate, you have more coil out of the gap, for more 'shown' Xmax. The L7, with that T-cut, adds more motor up top to have more motor strenght to keep the coil cooler. Now you have the inside why the L7 always seems to under 'displace' other sub, when in all reality, they are close on some, exceed some, and are a tad under on some...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I would still do a single ported 15, with a proper installation you would be amazed at how loud a single driver is able to get.
