Loud or not loud, gain setting question

i just bought i new head unit, set up id in sig. new headunit is jvd kd-s37.

as a precaution, i am going to reset my gains in my amps, which i always do with a dmm.

question i have is, should i leave the "loud" setting off during gain adjustments? or would it really make any difference?

I set mine with it on cause my 4 channel is controlled through my HU.

My thoughts exactly. I see it as a source of distortion, nothing more.

In my case it depends on the source. With the Ipod(only itunes media) there in no distortion. But if I put on some of the lower quality DLs you can tell its there or on the radio. When I had the HD radio it was good also.
