loud comps while still sounding good?

Horns, bi-amped.
Overkill maybe?lol

At least for the average listener

I use Infinity Reference Series 6022i speakers in my front and rear doors driven by a Rockford Fosgate P400-4 four channel amp in my 2003 Honda CRV. Those speakers go planty loud enough all the way to ear splitting levels. They sound great when played at any volume level and are not too expensive.
compared to what?

Infinity sounds like crap IMO

Infinity Perfects 6.1
I could say a thousand things about these speakers.

Only down part is that they take months to break in.

Up side is that they are always loud and they go from sounding awsome to unbelievable with time!

Gotta have everything tight and good power so that they will perform at their full potential.
You need to stop smoking crack

Or listen to some speakers that are worth listening to.

OP: search the classfieds maybe you will find somthing nice in your range:)

oh. so sounding good is all about what you have and not how you install and tune it. I get it now.
do you really think that everyone sits there with a RTA to tune in their speakers??? out the box German made Quarts are second to none. and yes tuning and how the install is done does matter but very go through what is needed to get to a flat frequency response across the spectrum.

I installed some blaupunkt velocity comps last wekend I paid 60 shipped off ebay. The vc650 set. The cf mids use a 3" coil and the silk tweeters use a relatively large neo slug. So far I am very impressed. Especially with the clarity at high volumes. They are seeing 200+ watts per side and get very loud. The mid/tweeter transition is not perfect, but there are 2 crossover point settings for the tweeters, 3 or 6k. I haven't tried the 3k setting yet, but I am confident they will improve when I do. Overall extreme value and well above average sq. Can't say I've heard a louder comp set.

all we know about those speakers are that they're quartz, made in Germany, and that you think they sound better than everything else mentioned in this thread. that's it. no model number. no specs. no graphs. nada. I'm not even sure if you've heard everything that's mentioned in this thread... president of common sense.

almost all of the SQ winners run MB Quarts. In 2000-2003 MB Quart won with their Demo Jetta that ran their Discus line with PSD crossovers and Zapco amps with an Eclipse head unit and Audiocontrol EQLs on each channel.

i didnt know mb quart won alot past 1995.....(had mb quarts from 90-93)

I actually like the new tweeters better than the old, also imo mb quarts can not hang with a horn set in detail nor volume..not even close in volume unless you are talking 3+ component sets LOL

Lot's of people on crack and love the Infinity perfects! Just read the reviews! Speakers that sound like crap couldn't win as many competitions as Infinity Perfects have! Stoping hating! People like what they like.
