Loud components

in order for music to leave the car, it needs a direct path out of the car. high frequencies will be gobbled up by the interior. if you can't directly see a tweeter cone/dome from outside the car, you won't hear it as well. this path could also be through the rear hatch/trunk. you could have a "B" system in the trunk/hatch that was for outside gatherings. i've done that before as well. just use some relays to switch between the two systems. open the rear, kill the fronts, and play out the back.
Or to get loud, you can just load your doors up. I had 3 Eminence Delta 10s and a Selenium ST350 tweeter in each door. Around 325w to each Delta 10, and about 60w to the Selenium ST350. Crossed over properly (with my 880PRS), with the 10s playing up to 6khz with a 12db/oct slope, and the tweets playing up from 3.15khz, with a 24db/oct slope, it sounded great.

It was loud as heck about 100' behind my truck. At shows I was shutting down cars with 12 12" mids and a bunch of horns/tweets. Also sounded much better.

90% install, 10% equipment.

I was being sarcastic and I dont think your buddys take thier antique large bore rifle, cut the stock off throw it in the back seat, take some shots then ask why they cant hit ****..
I never said large bore or that they were damaging thing. Just hauling round and usual wear and tear of not being protected (rolling around in the floor board or seat of a work truck.

All the reviews I read which is all I had to go on was the the HD line is pretty quiet but very clean. That is how mine turned out without anything to compare it to I thought that was just the nature of the beast. I didn't have any problems with it. They do all I need in my DD. I don't think I have damaged the speakers in anyway. I know the lengths that I am willing to go to acheive the level of performance that I want to attain. It mayb 10% equiment 90% install. So if you like, take all the time in the world to install you Roadmasters and have a good sounding system. I chose to buy nice stuff to compensate for the lack of effort I am willing to put into an install. My car is mine and only mine. If exposed wire and cut plastic don't bother me, I don't know why it bothers you.

agreed, you can make the interior loud as hell and sound has no choice but to leave the vehicle. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What I meant is that you bought a 3 way components set and took a vital component ( the speaker that reproduces the most significant spectrum ) and threw it in the back seat. Then you post, why doesn't it sound good. You were better off buying a 2 way component system which you are basically running now by bypassing the filter on the woofer. So you took a good 3 way system and turned it into a crappy 2 way system. Then you continue to try and defend your stupid *** mistake. Congrats, I hope you are happy with yourself.

I got the set cheap off the forum. I was looking at 2ways and saw this set in the classifieds. I wasn't complaining that it didn't sound good. I was simply explaining the goals that I have for my next project, but explaining what I have to begin with. The car sounded fine. The staging was messed up which I knew was going to happen. It just didn't have much volume which wasn't what the post was about). Keep_Hope_Alive just happened to recognize the problem that I didn't even know I had. He gave some sound (in both senses the word) advise which I appreciate. It was still loud enough in th car to suit my needs. I was focused on having a very clean sound for that car and I accomplished it. I have no issues addmitting my ignorance.

I am glad there are people like Keep_Hope_Alive here that are willing to help those of us that aren't experts. What I don't like are trolls that berate someone because they didn't install their own speakers the way Benchambers80 wanted them to.
