Lost my job today

I work for Papa-Johns Delivery. I get paid 5.15 + tips, which that puts me upwards of 12+ an hour on average. On my best night so far, I got paid $20/hour, and my worst night, $11/hour. You take home money every night, and paychecks every week. I love my job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I work 3 days a week doing landscaping, i get paid 11$ an hr and work from about 6am to around 5-7pm and I am only 16, but also, i have to put up as much of it as i can or otherwise, i would have 2 D2 Mags and 2 BX1000D's... anyways, i make around 300$ a week working 3 days a week, so if I were you, i would go landscaping, or something in that nature, they pay awesome...

Well after being a loyal employee for years I got laid off. It sucks especially when working in a small place and you think your boss actually cares. I know its because i cant work as much as I did beacause of college starting. I do something good for myself and I end up losing my job, great. Anyway, does anyone have any reccomendations were a full time college student could look for a job?
You should try UPS. They're an extremely good company and very concerned with who they hire. They can always use help. Plus most UPS jobs are Moday through Friday and give paid holidays. Not to mention the pay is pretty good. And they have a few different shifts so it's very accomodating.

Or he could go out and find a job since he's obviously able to work, and he could spare you and me some money paying for deadbeats too lazy to work.
not really, it isn't like it's welfare. if he got layed off or fired for no good reason, he has the right to file for compensation until he finds a new job. he has been paying for unemployment insurance himself since he has been working a multiple of years. fileing a claim doesn't make him a deadbeat in the slightest bit.

Landscaping, is the most shitty job ever. Pay is crap for such hard work. Just like how firefighters and policemen get paid absolute shit and do the most dangerous jobs.
I'm almost there.. the municipal I'm trying to get a job with pays Patrolmen a starting salary of 52,000, 20 years to earn 75%, and top off at about 90k a year. If the town you work in is semi-wealthy, you most likely don't have to work too hard.

Well everyone here is a update. I have a interview at circuit city this tuesday to work in the car audio dep. In my application i told them i want atleast 10.50 starting. So i guess there still interested.

Circuit city is a great place to work from what I've heard... I have a few friends that work at the local one. All of them love it. The manager is also kind of a friend, and wants me to come work there, but its a 25-35 minute drive, and I'm still in high school so......

and I already have a job.

They should start you at 10...that's what they normally start people at.

It's a pretty cool job- I don't have any complaints about working there, except for the occasional morons that come in thinking they are installers (I don't work in the Car Audio Dept. now though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

Anyway, if you get the job, you're going to have to go through e-learning, and when you do, forget everything we told you here about audio- because the test they give you is a big load of BS.

yeah.. thats what my friends said too... that the test is a load of bs... but just read what they give you and go with that for the test.

The manager down at the local one said that I wouldn't have to take it if i did want to work... haha... I wish I had more time where I could work down there. Maybe this summer.

You have to take it. Human Resources will pick up on it if you don't. That's another thing, they are tight on rules there. You have to go through all the training (they claim at least 32 hours, I got it done in about 3).

And they like to get on your back about your numbers- if you aren't selling, they'll let you know...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
