Lost lug nut key how to get them off?

I bought a replacement at autozone when I lost mine

smaller socket didnt work on these ones just spun once i beat it on and smaller size has no chance of fitting. Im gonna try the stripped bolt removal tool, autozone didnt have one big enough so im checking out sears tomorow.

cutting torch should work...

ok ill say it again. weld a bolt on the end. otherwise, your probably gonna ruin more than the lug nut. most shops do that if they dont have the keys.

I would think. hammering it out with a chisle. Welding a nut on it, Plasma, Torch. Would harm more then just going and get a lug nut removel tool.

If he was closer to me I would do it for 10 bucks. Take 10 minutes. Easy as pie with my kit. I have used that kit I have from snapon many of times to take wheel locks off for the ppl who lose their keys and for the ppl who never knew they had one.

I had 4 on my truck, 1 on each wheel. And it was a cheap one so the shit stripped out. I had to weld a nut onto each lock nut to get them off. Worked fine and didnt hurt anything.

what kind of car? is it vw? they have factory locks with the spline on the inside, ran into this the other day, the dealership had a master set and took them off, then you can either order a key, a whole lock and key set which they have in stock, or put in stock nuts, we put in stock nuts, who the **** steals 15" vw wheels anyways

I guess you get what you pay for. Never had a problem with the ones I have. Been useing them for over 8 years now. I'll have to get the part # from snapon. I know sears sells the same kit.

yea im about to go to sears to get the stripped bolt removal set. I got two off with the pound a socket on strategy but the other two it just spun once i turned it

If the lugs are sticking out from the wheel you could use a pipe wrench. If they are recessed (which most are) I guess you need that extractor set.

i had one of the actual studs break loose inside the hub....talk about a biitch to remove....all the lug wrench would do was spin in circles....I had to break out the cutting torch on that one...

my local tire shop threw a ez out on all of my locking lug nuts to get them off go grab a ez out
