Lost Everything! No Power.

Initial working setup - 4-Channel 600w Jensen going to 4 Pioneer components.

Tried to add - 2 Kenwood subs w/ a 920w Kenwood 2-channel

Problem - Nothing works, and I only get a slow pulse of power to the Jensen

I've tried - Removing Kenwood completely and going back to old setup, still no cd player and slow power pulse to Jensen. Checked fuse in CD player.

I haven't checked the fusebox yet...it's been 8 hours of work and it's too dark outside for me to see squat...and I'm tired. Anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking that power is still going through my cd player and giving a little juice to my Jensen, but my cd player just won't startup. Everything is connected to the back of the cd player just fine. I figure it's the culprit, so I'd like to fix it first.

if it takes you 8 hours to install that much stuff you really need to just pay a shop to do the install, it will take then 2 hours to do a fresh install and will only charge you about a hundred bucks

sorry to sound like a ***, but you obviously have no clue what your doing and need professional help

Should work now

No need to be a butthole man. It took 8 hours because I don't have all the necessary tools, so I've had to run back upstairs to my buddies apartment often, I stopped to eat dinner, and I've had to come up here and do research to troubleshoot this problem. Actually, I do know what I'm doing, that's why I had my initial setup installed no problem. But thanks for jumping to conclusions and insulting my competence. I appreciate your advice...oh wait, you gave none.

I know my battery isn't dead b/c the car starts up just fine. I don't have any extra wire to run from my positive to the lead on my amp. Actually, right now, I'm just concerned with getting my headunit to power up. Other than checking the fuse box, which I'm going to do this morning, what else could have happened to knock it out?

Usually a short...sometimes the harnesss on the back comes loose as well.

Alls you need is a piece of speaker wire that you can push onto the positive on the amp, and place the other on the amp's turn on, which tends to be right next to the power wire coming in...you only need a 3 inch piece of wire.

As for the head unit, get a multimeter, set it on dv volts, atleast 20 on the setting, and check to see if you got power coming in on the ignition...make sure all the harness connections are correct and not loose or broken, and make sure the harness is snug in the HU.

Hey Rawr-DQ thanks so much for you suggestions. I appreciate it very much. Turns out my ground wire to my HU was a little loose and I just couldn't see it in the middle of the night (I had no flashlight other than my phone). I didn't solder it like I normally do, but that's a long story. Anyways, thanks man. My stuff sounds great now. I'm running a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP out to the Jensen which is putting 75w RMS to four pioneer components (upgrading to Infinities this summer) and also to a KAC-7202 which is putting 150w RMS to two near new KFC-W3003's which I got w/ a nice box for $25 (my friends dad works at a junk yard! woot!). Not that anyone cares about that, but I'm so excited I had to speak. Never had subs before.
