Lossless audio formats?

CDs are encoded at 1.4mbps. You're using WAV which is uncompressed. FLAC, Apple lossless, etc seem to work just fine. I haven't sat down infront of the reference system and compard side by side, but day to day listening in the car and at work (custom 2 way IEMs) reveal no issues with any lossless codec Ive tried. Mathematically lossless is something my ears arent up to busting.

High quality LAME MP3 rips are just as good as lossless.
You'd never notice a difference between a lame 192-320kbs mp3 rip & a flac or wav file.
I noticed a difference between the same material LAME 192 vs 320. I dont think of myself and an audiophile and the setup I was listening to was less than stellar. I'm sure a better setup would reveal this even more. However 320 lame was Close enough to wav. for me for a car. I listen while driving, not beating off in parking lots about how great my stage is.

FLAC FTW.

There is a definite audible difference between 192kbps and 320kbps.

WV (Wav Pack) is not the same as a .WAV, but is also considered a lossless format as well as AC3 and DTS, but not in there BIN/CUE format.

Anything OGG, MP3 V0, MP3 V2, or MP3 CBR320 down to any bitrate less than 320kbps is considered lossy format. You also cant encode from these formats and up convert to a lossless format. It only makes the lossy audible difference worse.
