Right now i have my old Clarion 12" running off of an old school receiver hooked off of my computer.

Im looking for a way to run this, preferrably with a built in crossover to cut off the highs; needs a passthrough RCA for my speakers

this technicks receiver is 4ohm, which matches my sub perfectly. i just need somethign with a crossover built in. i have an inline one now but it only works at higher volumes

I've thought about building something for fun and have been thinking about all the powered home subs you see in pawn shops cheap, I was thinking scrap the box/sub(unless it's a nice sub)and just utilize the plate amp from the whole deal and incorporate that into my own design.

second thought for your case (already having a power unit/rec.)find an even cheaper used NON powered unit they have built in passive crossovers in them as well as the pass thru's you need.
