[/b]Hello everyone, my question to you is, I'm looking to purchase a 4 channel amp and I scoped out a couple of brands like JL, Orion, Fusion, Arc, Ma etc. and this is what I have to work with.

Sony F7700 head unit, a set of Polk dx6 2way 6.5, a set of Fusion FJL-65C components. I pretty sure that the polk have an rms rating 2-40, and not quite sure on the 6.5 Fusion Components. This will all go into my 04 Dodge Dakota Club Cab. Need some help? Your input is greatly appreciated, Thanks.

This is my first time going this far with my car stereo and I'm familiar with the major brands they sell at Circut City and Best Buy. Perhaps you or someone out there can skool me on what brands to look out for and which one's to stay away from

stay away from sony, and pyramid, and hifonics and crap like that. a good amp would be the ED 9.4. http://www.edesignaudio.com if you can find a PG ti500.4 they are excellent amps

How do I determine how pwr I need without over doing it. Have you ever heard of Fusion, I'm taking a chance on there components. The place I got my alarm installed recommend orion D4400.4 or something like that. Who makes PG.

PG= phoenix gold. i've heard of fusion. don't know much about them. what you want to do is match up the rms power. your speakers are rated for say 40 watts rms then most likely you buy a 40wrms amp. you also have to know how to set your gains. read the gain setting tutorial in the amp forum.
