Looking for an amp to power my sub

I have a pioneer ts-w3001d4 being powered by a pioneer gm-d9601. I just feel like the amp is really pushing the sub like it should. Any suggestions on anything else that would push it close to its limit?

Your amp is 800 watts if you are wired at 2ohm. It's more than enough for that sub. I bet your box is jacked

That amp has plenty of balls if you have it installed correctly. I installed one for the first time recently to power two Pioneer shallow 12s. Maybe you're expecting more out of the sub than it can give you. What enclosure is it in? NoLoud4U is on to something.

I probly do have it wired incorrectly. I don't know much about wiring amps and subs and the box is a ****** one but I'm getting a custom enclosure done by highoutput. I just wanted to see if anyone would have any other input.

All the lines are speaker wires.

So I don't need a wire connecting the other + and -? Also is there a specific way to connect it to my amp since my amp has inputs for 2 subs? I really appreciate everyone's help. Thank you.

No you are just using one pair of + and - dont even touch the other two + and - There is no bridging or anything like that, its a monoblock. Those are for if you using two subwoofers, it just makes wiring easier, you do not get more power if you use all of them. You get power if you wire it parallel properly according to the diagram

i dont think that a 199.99 amp would even come close to pushing your subwoofer.any brands that you prefer or like?you can find the ARC KS 1000.1 every once and a while on ebay for 375.00 to 400.00.and now that you can buy extended warranty on used items on ebay i have been buying alot from there.JL also makes a very nice HD 1200 true watt amp.and it makes that power from 11-14 volts and 2-8 ohms.not positive about ohm range but something similar to that.i might be getting my hands on the ARC in the next few weeks if you like that one.google them and see what you think.

So you wired both vc's in parallel and nothing? Btw, is that sub in a ported or sealed?

Yes and it didn't respond what's so ever. It's in a ported box.

Better dmm those vc's man. That amp doesn't have subsonic on it, which is required for a ported enclosure.

Make sure you wire it properly man, you wired it wrong in the beginning, not sure if you made a mistake along the lines. Watch the video and get a digital multi-meter



If its completely 100% wired exactly right with a speaker jumper wire from positive to positive and negative to negative then connect a negative and a positive from the sub and connected straight to a positive and a negative on the amp. At 4:15 in the youtube vid.

If you still have no sound then you've blown a pair of voice coils from your improper wiring before. Watch the video, it'll show you how to check the voice coils with a digital multi-meter if you have a wierd reading then its blown.

The red line is your positive speaker wire. The black line is the negative speaker wire.

This is how I had it wired originally and it was working great. The second time i wired it i ran one amp positive to 1 positive on the sub and one amp negative to one negative on the http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg

Again, check the voice coils with a digital multi-meter and if everything is fine, then you need a better box, or an amp that does power at 2 ohms or just a better subwoofer. Or you need to set the gains properly along with proper head unit settings.

I guarantee that amp has enough power to make this sub want to kick the cone right out of the basket if it's getting proper power and the gain is set right.

X2. I had the 9601 @1 ohm on 2 sws 12d4's in a sealed and it pushed them easily. Never got warm either.
