For a dual 2ohm Type R 12 you will want a one ohm stable amp or a amp that does around 500+wrms at 1ohm or 4ohms, I would go with Memphis PR 500.1, you can get those brand new for $250 or less, and there very nice lil amps!

Just seems like he hasn't done a single bit of research. Just popped on over and wants people to do the work for him. I understand it takes a lot to understand all the info around car audio but at least do a little bit of your own leg work before you start getting help. According to Alpine that is a dual 4 ohm sub.

I did do research im getting confused as far as RMS @ # ohms, i wanted recommendations so i don't get something thats a POS or doesn't work right.
in general i only know brands and what my sub is capable of handling, not what type of amp will give it the best potential.

That's cool just didn't seem like it from your post. So for clarification and we can point you in the right direction is it a dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm sub?

Ohms are kind of hard to explain. Once you think you have it they throw in dual voice coils, so no you don't need a 4 ohm load you need a 2 ohm load.

Since your only running one thing from it it would only make sense to run a mono. Unless you plan to run other subs/comps from it.
