hi guys i am new here! anyways i am trying to build a good sound quality car. right now i have a pair of diamond audio s600s running on 75watts @ 4 ohms.

my speakers are begging me for a new amp to give them the right power. they are rated at 170watts @ 4 ohms.

i am leaning towards the soundstream trx2.550. what do you guys think of this amp? its rated at 175watts @4 ohms per channel. my second choice is the kicker zx550.2 or zx450.2 whats better?

oh yah i will be running it with a soundstream vir-5000 headunit and a RF 3sixty.2 and the doors are already deadened.

hope you guys can give me some feed back! thanks

Get either a diamond D3 500.4 or a ARC KS 300.4.. the Diamond will do 250x2 @ 4 and the KS will do 350x2 @ 4. Headroom is your best friend and those 2 amps are pretty affordable. I'd take them over what you listed any day.

isn't that power too much? the speakers are only rated at 150
yeah but its good to have headroom incase you do decide to upgrade or want to try more power to them.

i had an amp hooked up to a set of my MLK165's, 500x2 at 4ohms. way beyond headroom!!

hahaha! thats insane! but i am a fan of matching amp with speakers. thats why i dont like bridging and if i needed more power for another set of speakers i would get another amp more suitable for that set.

what i could do is go with a different stereo amp with more power to better handle my speakers. how much more power should i go with if thoes speakers are rated 150? actually on the manual it says there rated at 170w

U could go with the diamond audio d6 700.4 or the arc audio ks 300.4 both are over 115 watts rms at 4 ohms. U'd be much happier with these amps rather than the ones u mentioned. Also the d3 500.4 lyttleviet mentioned would be nice as well. U can always watch ur gains so too much power is a good thing. Better to have too much than not enough and those diamonds love the power.

thanks for the advice guy! really appreciate it! just asking whats a good stereo amp. i dont like bridging amps. when i bridge i am always monkeying with the gains thinking one is stronger then the other etc. so i like a good 2 channel amp and i am sure both are getting the same amount of power.

from the way you guys are talking about it soundstream doesn't make good amps anymore. they used to be the best! what happened. i know those diamonds are good! i got there speakers right but i wanted to match the amp with my head unit. but i guess sound quality is a better thing to go for right?

I say go with the Diamond Audio D6 700.4 plenty of power to run those. I had my D5 & D6 600.4 running those same comps. sounded nice Or if you have the money go with the D9

Now i have a JL 450/4 great amp they make the comps sound beautiful. Im running 150 rms to the front was runing 75 rms to the back. i bridged it now since im running another set of D662'2 comps on my back deck.

You can also go with a Alpine PDX 4.150 i have a friend running hexs components sound really nice too.
