who took a shit in your cereal?

He said he wanted an entire system, a very nice one was suggested to him, and he comes back with something his buddy suggested. Why is he here?

He should do what was suggested and research a LOT on what direction he wants to take his setup. 900 won't get you too much Boom if you want decent shit. Hell, people spend 900 sometimes before they even hook up an amp.

wow ya for real. that is only subs, amp, and a head unit. might wanna get some speakers so you can still hear the voices of your music! like they said, do some research. i researched all summer and finally got a decent system. and im not sure you could get a bumpin system, and installation for under $900. install will probably cost at least $200. i have $800 in my truck wich is only a HU, fronts, sub amp, sub, and wiring. it will cost you alittle more. maybe learn how to do the install yourself. unless you dont have the patients and dont wanna deal with it. but for me i learned how to do it, saved me money, and it was kinda fun. good luck
yea you're right, i really have no clue on the setup of a sound system and stuff

and it wasnt a friend that suggested it.. it was another online dude on a different site and i took his word for it

but um.. what's missing with his setup?

speakers? is that all? because i would like to get the setup done by a shop.. i really don't have too much time to start learning how to put it in you know

lemme kno whats missing.. thanks..

the only reason i came back with something different was because i wasnt specific with what kinda system i wanted

and i really don't have much time to research.. although i have researched quite a lot past couple weeks

the other dude said the system that i came back with was incomplete..

can u lemme know what's missing other than speakers?

speakers, wiring, amp for speakers

the system that was suggested for you on here i was actually pretty impressed with the dudes research you should give him a big thanks, he went out of his way to find it all for you and those prices were pretty good. Not my number 1 choice in gear but it was a deff a good choice could i do better? no ****ing clue his was good.

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10098363&catid=20109

i have wiring for the setup already btw

i'm looking for something with a little more !BOOM! you knowthis is what a friend of mine suggested..

lemme know if you guys think it's good..

it's a HIFONICS BXi1608D amp with 2 15" KICKER 07CVR154 subs and an Alpine CDA-9884 deck all for 810$

what you think bout that setup?
Well, you said you wanted a complete set up, and that is only a substage and HU. I made that list to give you an idea of what a complete set up looks like. Most people do a lot of research and spend hours pouring over specs, gear reviews and dealer prices to narrow down exactly what components and where to buy.

I suggest you think about what it is you really want. You said your stock speakers really ****, but then you don't leave room in your budget to replace them.

My suggestion is to do lots of research and pick a substitute for everything on the list I gave you, but include one of everything. You can also stretch your dollars by carefully buying used gear on this and other car audio forums.

You will need:

Head unit

6.5" door speakers

2 channel amp

door dampining kit

subwoofer

sub amp

amp wiring kit

big3 wiring

A box for the subs, speakers (as was suggested) wiring. And if you don't want to do the install yourself, knock about 300 or so off of that 900 if you want it done by a shop.

Do some research. First find out what size speakers your car will take. I would maybe go with one nice sub in a nice box over 2 because you think 2 will "Boom" better than one.

900 will get you a decent amp and speakers with wiring for your inside, or a decent sub/amp/wiring if you just want to do the subs.

If I were you (and I'm not) I would get the radio and inside speakers done first. I am not too familiar with Alpine decks, but a nice radio can be had for about 250. pair that with some alpine speakers that will fit your car and a decent amp to power them If you shop around, that can run you about 6-650 ish including install. Use the left over money to beef up your electrical system for the subs and sub amp. That 250-300 can maybe buy you a battery for the rear and the front if that one is old and shitty.

Or you can buy some used equipment off here or another site, ask some locals on the forums to help you out and come out a little better.

I was suggesting you need both a one channel (mono/sub) amp for the subs and a smaller 2 channel amp to power your door speakers. Even on a budget system I can't recommend anyone run speakers off the HU amplifier. I suggest an external amp to power them. They will sound much better and get much louder. The Hifoncis you listed would work great for your subs, but you will still need a 2 channel amp for your door speakers.

Larger 6 1/2 speakers will sound better and give more bass than a comparable 5 or 4" speaker. IMO, 6 1/2" speakers will give you the best "bang" for your buck. IMO, the only reason to go with smaller speakers is if you can't make them fit, and usually with a little bit of modification most people can make 6 1/2's fit. It's worth the effort. Depth is usually more of a problem than width, and a small wooden ring "riser" will usually take care of both problems.

Your front door speakers provide most of the sound/music you hear. They do ~98% of the work, so it's important to get good speakers, install them well, seal & deaden your doors and provide them with plenty of amplifier power. Most of the bass you "hear" comes from the door speakers (some people call this mid-bass), and smaller speakers, like 4"-5" speakers just can't produce any usefull bass.

Your subs only work on the lowest 2 % of the sound/music. But it takes a ton of power and speaker cone size to do it. This is the bass you "feel".

Read the stickied thread at the top of the "Speaker" sub forum on how to seal and deaden your doors.

**** man.. you know your shit

that's some real good info

so i started searching up some component speakers for the door

and i found this..

http://www.millionbuy.com/hifzxi65c.html

and a 2-channel amp to go with that..

http://www.millionbuy.com/crup5002.html

but i'm not sure if i should go with a 500w 2-channel amp or a 1000w 2-channel amp since the component speakers are 500w (i don't know if it's 500w each or 500w together //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif)

sorry to bother once again.. but can you please check the links and let me know?

that'd be cool! thanks in advance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
