Some compaies call it "True HD" to try and push their sets more, but it goes like this:iirc 1080p is considered HDTV. I'm a n00b with tv's so im not too sure but thats what i heard.
can someone explain what 1080p really means?
Close, the number refers to how many horizontal lines of pixels make up the picture (I know I'm nit-picking, but it's fun). But you're right about the letter referring to the type of refresh rate.all those numbers just mean a resolution(the amount of pixels on the screen) and then there is 1080i or 1080p which just means interlaced or progressive. But yes usually 1080p means HDTV.
ahh it's ok it's been forever since I've actually had my computer class (the monitor part of cousre) I know there are two ways a screen can refresh....thanks for correcting me though.Close, the number refers to how many horizontal lines of pixels make up the picture (I know I'm nit-picking, but it's fun).
