Found em on Craigslist. They were BNIB, still in the plastic, and this set was made in about 2005. I actually had the set that was a step up from these (PSD 216) and the only differences I've noticed is that the crossovers aren't as nice and the woofers' cones aren't wet powder coated with titanium. While the wet powder coating added some sex appeal, I don't feel like it made a huge difference in sound. And I'll be running the set active so I have no need for the xovers. The tweeters appear to be the same as the PSD/QSDs.

I'm happy with my find //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Also, why is sex censored? That's fucked up.

No chance. I'd been searching for speakers for months and I feel like this set found me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I can maybe still get my hands on the PKC113 if your interested //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

just installed a set in a 2000 Alero along with the PVI216 in the rears on a DSC480 and it is pure ***....

the customer almost Shit himself when I told him the fronts were only a 4" speaker lol

we pulled out a set of JL xr series to replace with these...

How are the PVIs? I looked into them and even bought a set only to have the money returned because the tweets were missing.

I honestly bought these because I can't resist MBQ speakers from that era //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

the PVI is not quite the same sound but I had no issues blending the 2 dif era sets together at all..

Maxxsonics really surprised me with the new Quarts to be honest... I was worried they would not be any good but I use and sell tons of them.

I was and have been a Quart dealer for over 20 years so it was definately a pleasant surprise for me.

they are a bit warmer on the mids and if not adjusted correctly the tweeters will get harsh, but anyone that understands how to detune the treble will love the new tweets more than just about any other tweet out there..

I have a set of them and they are way way way overpowered and are some of the sweetest sounding speakers I have heard in a long time. I had to detune the PVI a bit and ramp up the fader to my bostons so they didn't overpower them so much.
