Why go from a 1.5kW+ amp to a 1kW+ amp?

Did you need the power at a different resistance than you could present to that D6 mono?

just tired of the DA. wanted something with a higher damping factor. plus DA customer service SUCKS ***! I'm not even using the DA to its full potential(2 ohms=750wrms)

Fair enough.

Though I do not think the difference in damping factor between the D6 and the JL is going to make as much audible difference (if any) as you might think....

Congrats! Both of these amps are awesome. Just stay at or above 2 ohms and use good 2.5 mm allen wrench , and you'll be very happy.

eventually i'm gonna run 2 L7D4 10's @ 4 ohm. temporarily i'll be running 1 10" L7 dual 4 ohm at 8 ohms....the JL tech said the amp will only do "about"500 watts @ 8 ohms.....I dont think i should dump 1kw on a single L7 10....they only handle 600wrms.

Hope that they last you more than a year or two before dying. Much better quality and performance to be had out there.

You better be running L7 at 2 ohm right now. You may find it strange, but high impedances is not good for these amps with regulated power supply. BTW i spoke with JL tech services and they said i would have NO problems running it at higher ohm loads....
