The worst part will be making sure there is no hidden rust spots, behind wheelwells or whatnot, and making sure that none of that rust spreads. Grats on getting an impala for 900 though, I've always loved those cars. I was looking into that also....I just came back from one shop they want a total of $2,200 just to do the magor rust spots and holes......saturday their going to strip down the interior and tell me what else is going on

an ss for 900 is a good deal, rusty or not, id sand the car down to the metal, im sure theres alot of rust you can't see. hows the interior? if you decide not to fix it, you could part it out for a few grand.

That is a big project, dont kid yourself thinking it can be done here and there. Get it in a garage tear it down and then see what you have to work with. Rust holes in the floor are the first indication. Get it up on stands and get a trained eye on that frame.

Nice find and got lucky on that one. Rust is pretty bad, but looks like you could take care of it.

I still think my deal beats you when I got my 85 cutty. Only 70,000 on the clock, no rust, ran perfect! 450 out the door. Just had to put on a new exhaust.
