and yes, the word "ricer",to me anyway is more talking about the driver than the car, i have a friend who drives a talon that he made fast and i don't call it ricer, i call it fast, then i have a friend who drives a golf, his car is not fast at all, but it has graphics, racing seats, etc, his car i call a ricer.

they don't share very much

the '04 GTO's share the LS1 with the late 4th gen F's, '05- '06 GTO's have the LS2

the trannies are probably the same though, 4L65E for auto and T56 for stick
