ok... so i have 2 12" Dual subs 150RMS 4ohm SVC 425Watt max *per sub*... im lookin to spend a max of $150.... will this Soundstream VGA400.2 do me better than the Amplifier brands such as Lightning Audio 1000Watt, Legacy 800 and 1000Watt, Cole 800 and 1000Watt, and some Hifonics 600-800 watts amps??? also would this amp be better than a Kenwood-KAC7252 2-Channel 1000Watt MAX amplifier??? can you also tell me WHY if it is better than these other amps....and is this amp worth $150??... this post is for one of my friends... thanks

Yes. The Soundstream will give you 400x1 will do its rated power and possibly more. The others I wouldn't even consider. Maybe a Hifonics(really close to their rating) but none of the others would even compare(1000 watt Lightning Audio will do less than 1/2 probably less). The Kenwood will give you 500x1@4ohms bridged and will do its rated power. (You can't go by max wattage, look for RMS wattage)

Van Gogh > than the Flea Market everday of the week even on Sunday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
You would think the same thing about a working old-school Autotek Super Sport-series amp but a buddy of mine sure as heck got one out of the flea market here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

For those who have never been to a larger, well organized flea market you'd be amazed at what can be found there sometimes.

So true, tis one of my favorite places locally to find older vintage amps. There is crap there just like every other flea market. You just got to look around. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i have a soundstream xta 880.2 for 2 10w6v2 they would be fine? or should I moved up to a better quality amp?
The XTA's are pretty good budget amps IMO.

The 880's probably just about right for your subs. If you have the money an upgrade certainly wouldn't hurt, but you're not going to make any significant difference in sound just by getting a higher priced amp. If you're satisfied with your sound as it is I would leave well enough alone.
