LOL @ RD Audio & if RD owes you something (RD super fail topic)

IDK, I clearly remember people freaking out at DD for that back when the konaki clones came into the market //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I remember it being a big deal as well...I contacted DD and AQ but they wouldn't sell me anything for my Konaki motors.

Im never going to be loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif:crying://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
Im not talking shit about IA, Im saying everyone in the business knows there is issues with the DP 21"s at least with that diameter former used. I know im a noob and I don't know shit about this sport but that is common sense. Also if you've ever run finite elemental analysis models on a DP based motor(just draw up MT specs with a pole piece) you will see very fast why it is nothing special, sorry but when a company comes out talking about what makes them better then the rest, I expect just that. Nothing against Nick Wright, I like that he took chances something most companies dont care to do, I just feel he went about it the wrong way.

PS... I dont know anything about Car Audio... just what you teach me.
My last few post here have been very entertaining.....I expect these to be nothing less. I see Josh has been in here trying to keep the peace - we'll I just sent Josh home with a bag of ice cream and told him to stay off the computer for a few days.....

Time to back up the claims:

1. Who is everyone in the business? Give me names? I'm sure I'm friends with them all....
2. What diameter former do we use? I'd like it in thousand please?

3. What FEA program did you run? What is the BL^2 / RE? What is the gauss?

Please give me all of the following as well:

1. Top Plate Height, OD, ID?

2. Bottom Plate Height, OD, ID?

3. Pole OD, ID?

4. Magnets OD, ID, Height, Grade?

5. Type of steel used?

6. Type of glue used?

We will say to hell with top and bottom plate geometry for now. Please also provide the same specs for the MT for comparison. I'd like to see drawings of both and/or FEA shots from the program you use.

4. Please explain to me the wrong way I went in design and use facts and examples to back it up and well me understand.

When I go and get my oil changed in my car I tend to let the guy do it that does it 150 times a day - never once have I crawled under there to help him. I figure he knows what he's doing - after all he has years of on the job experience.

Right now I'm changing the oil on your car......How about you crawl under the car with me?

Thanks,

Nick Wright

Wow well said! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

Nick, I've heard rumors of coil rock problems on the 21" DP. Have you seen evidence of this in your repair work or from customers, or is this just people not having a clue?

I'm staying out of this because I have no advanced knowledge of audio equipment, but lol at the bolded part.

I'm not going to tell you we haven't reconed DP 21's or sent out recones because we have. But on the same time 99% of everything we send out recones for or recone in house is because of power issues. For the life of me I can't figure out why RMS power is always times 2 or 3 what we rate it. We have customers that try to run 4000 or 5000 RMS on the DP's and yes they will break, as will anything.

I'd bet money if the Warden 21 was as cheap as the DP 21 the "same" people would tell you they break all the time as well. Why? Because people want the biggest and best.....and can afford it.....and guess what that's what DP 21 is.....

The DP 21 uses the exact same parts as everything else in the line up....except the cone is bigger as well as the basket. If we had coil rock problems on the DP 21 we'd see it in what we recone or any of the other DP models for that matter.

Reasonable assumption. Maybe rate them at 500 rms so when people run 4x the rms it's perfectly fine.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks for clearing that up.

so youve never seen coil rock on the 21"s ? guess im just mis-informed... anyone I know who has run them has *****ed and moaned about the issues they have seen...but guess they could have had other issues as well, I can never rule that out
