Logitech makes some great computer speakers!!!

you ever been to a concert? those 2x12's that they use for the guitars are usually under 120 watts...
120 watts being ran by a constant 110v is alot different than car audio..
I'm not sure I understand the second part of your statement...a watt is a watt as far as measurement goes...it's the loudspeaker's efficiency that makes the situation different. You don't generally have 98-100dB/W efficient speakers in a vehicle.

Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Ultra >>> Logitech *

I've owned Logitech Z-5500's, Z-5300e's, and Klipsch's ProMedia 2.1's prior to owning these (5.1 Ultras). IMHO these ProMedia 5.1's dump all over both Logitech models. In some cases the Logitech woofers produce a little more output (barely noticable), but when it comes to deep, clear, quality bass response there's no comparison (Logitech's stuff from my experience is very boomy, and sloppy).

I got myself the Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1's. I think I paid about 275 for em (best buy discount > all). I was just gonna build my own system w/ a reciever and everything, but it would have costed me over 400 bux, and I'm tight on money right now....

I have a set of the Cambridge Soundworks 550THX MegaWorks from Creative Labs. They sound awesome for the price I spent. Everytime I tell people the speakers they hear are only the little 2 inch satelites sitting on top of the big dead tower speakers, their jaw drops. I can turn these bad boys all the way up, and there isn't even the faintest amount of distortion.

try something that actually sounds good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i am a firm believer in full range and single driver horn setups, but for big sound, u need to sweep some air towards ur head //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

then again, these are computer speakers, so what i said is subject to either flames or disagreement.

i have some polks for my computer (a couple sattelites and a about a 6" or 5.25" subwoofer). they are, eh, ok. they sound good at low volumes, but at higher volumes they dont retain the same sound quality. however, they are plenty loud and good enough for a computer. my home theatre system is where i concentrate my money and listening for movies and music.

50 watts can't be loud? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Well, maybe not for the Altec Lansing system...but choose your speakers correctly, and 50 watts will be more than you need.
he wasnt talking about super home audio 108db sensitivity speakers so i didnt comment on it. i commented on the altec lansing, so yes, on that... 50 aint loud..
on somethin else... thats another story and another thread all together
