Could be that the amp is sending a sort burst of dc voltage and the protect circuit is not catching it.lol... my 1st amp install was when i was like 14..@ 16 i built enclosure in trunk fro 6 12s
first deck install when i was 7
learned from a 12volt pro when i was 12-15 he did install st his house for his uncles shop
im talking farrari 97 toyota supra back when the 1st fast and the furious am out
i just finished 2 15s in a buick
2 12s in a box chevy
2 jl 12s in a old school benz
2 kicker 12s in a dodge intrepid
decks and small stuff along the way
^^^^^^ all from--16 to now 22 im not at a pro and i have not done over 20 cars but im not just starting out allthough the hc600 make it seem that way.. this is a mock up system im doing and i haven't been able to get past this issue since i got this amp 2nd 1 though so im doubting its that.. i am thinking its clipping or catchinga clipped signal but as i said th subs look like there puged in to a socket for a quick second i mean they reach full excursion and then some
the notes dosent even push the subs that far
Im playing bass i love and all other bass tracks you giving the subs all i got and they just back there having fun ,but on chris brown or e40 spooky its just horrable
please dont post "answers" to peoples issues if you have no clue what your talking about...the bass should be set at 0 or negatve on youre headunit if you turn up the bass on youre head unit your also sending bass to your door speakers which is bad turn the bass down on your head unit and the gain up on your amp. but not all the way up most amps have max output at half or 3/4 gain
this isnt a stock stereo dude...most aftermarket decks have submoofer control....the bass should be set at 0 or negatve on youre headunit if you turn up the bass on youre head unit your also sending bass to your door speakers which is bad turn the bass down on your head unit and the gain up on your amp. but not all the way up most amps have max output at half or 3/4 gain
stated in OP 3 cubes @ 35 HzPossibly a Box? I had the same issue.. My box was too small. (Scratching, Clipping, Thermal issues.) What size box are these in?
Well it just sounds like your amp will not put out its rated cleanly. It may still do its rated but only for very, very short burst.got new rca'sgot a new amp
got hc600
tried a new deck,i dont have a sub setting
bass always at 0
i did some testing today to see if it was the deck clipping ..i lowered the volume and reset the gains 3 times 3 different volumes same issue.
using a 0db 50hz test tone i end up with 19.9 volts @1.2-1.4 ohms max setting without the issue.thats no more than 375 wrms -300wrms im getting no where near 600 watts ..
when i do set the amp at 29 volts i can only play most songs full(set )volume bu on the songs i get the problem i have to back off volume/bass to -2 or more
also with the volts at 29 my voltage dosent go any lower that 13.4
help me please ...its really down to changing my battery under the hood or a new amp..i dont think i can differnt amp (exchanging it from where i bought it)
i also tried the setup on my bros amp ,it set at 750 rms @ 2 ohms and my subs are @1.2-1.4 final load and the issue did not occur i ruled out the box and replaced the amp for that reason.
