lincoln ls rear 6x9 question..

from what i know the stock 6x9 in my lincoln ls are only wired to play subwoofer frequencies..i bought a pair of alpine type r 6x9 thinking that vocals would come out of them but they deff. dont. i heard the only way to make this happen is to add a line converter and new amp..is this true or can anyone chime in.e thanks
