Nas and Talib are barley rappers.
Would you not agree Wayne is the best rapper but no the best lyricist, as since you should as well as I do both are verrrry different.

o man....how the F is Nas barely a rapper?? what is wrong with ur brain? Wayne is not the best anything. he is average at best and appeals to people with no basic understanding of lyrical skill or complex wordplay. the same people who can hear the same lyrics over 5 different beats and think its a different song every time. LISTEN UP SOMETIME..in fact..hes popular because hes NOT a lyricist. they play his music at middle school dances, dance parties, ...stuff like that. why? because his music takes no thinking to understand. he has no message. it doesnt make u stop and think..its mindless background music. if that appeals to u then listen to it. but its NOT the work of a lyricist

As for who's got it locked right now; Wayne's sitting on top.

I don't know many people who aren't waiting on his album to come out.

Whether or not you think he's the best; you do have to admit that he's obviously doing something right.

A rapper isn't just a lyricist. A rapper is an entertainer......how you flow, how you put that flow to match a beat, how you perform, how you make an appealing sound.

Talib is a lyricist for ex...he don't flow on beat...he has horrible appeal...bottom line he's not an entertainer. Who honestly buys his cds to bump? Only people buying his cds are people for the lyrics...you ain't going to to turn it all the way up and start stunting..

i agree.....hes got a huge fanbass and market. but not because of anything to do with skill. strictly because of the nature of his music. the fact that its made purely to appeal to every demographic. he'll say whatever it takes to sell records. he'll rap about what he thinks people want to hear just because he IN AN IMAGE. he is property of his record company...he is a tool to sell records.

In all actuality the only album he's had that has went platinum is Carter II.

But, I'm sure Carter III will dominate charts for a while. Might even break some records.

no the difference is between the ENTERTAINER and the RAPPER. the rapper should be a lyricist, have great flow, wordplay, rhyme scheme, etc. an entertainer should do what people wanna hear...a puppet if u will. there is no perfect rapper..but talib is closer than weezy will ever be.
