Lightweight bass solutions?

I got a boston SPG555 neodymium sub I havent hooked up yet. couldn't tell ya how it sounds but it is the closest thing I have seen to my 13w7 but half the weight. I like it because it only needs like 1 cubic foot of air space.

I have some TB neo 5.25 subs that are like mini UL12's and much cheaper
I love those :| //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

that'd be my pick

Deaden the doors and thrown some amp'd components in there, should help some.

If your going to sub route make sure to put whatever you get in a fiberglass enclosure.

Cheap subs are generally light some kicker/RF/Infinity/whatever the big box store closest is selling should be pretty light.

New SI mag V4 is approximately 25lbs, built a 1ft^3 fiberglass box and feed it with a Sundown 1000D or maybe a Alpine PDX amp and be happy.

What kind of car do you drive? Pair of 8's or 10's IB off the rear parcel shelf would be pretty good and cut down the weight of the enclosure.

UL's are not the only Neo based motors. Lightning Audio has some out there, TC, and several others. Just have to look around, maybe make a WTB thread.

Also look into marine plywood or baltic birch plywood for the enclosure, will save some weight.
