Lights still dimming even with Optima Yellow Top?

I just installed a jbl 600 watt amp for an upgrade to run my subs. And as I was testing it out, my interior lights dimmed every time a bass note hit. I just bought a brand new optima yellow top for my car too.

I haven't done the big 3 yet but will get around to it in a couple weeks after I get some things straightened out.

What could be the problem here? Too high gain, frequency? Or is it simply I just need to do the big 3? Someone please provide me with a solution!

a little dimming is a long way from a tragedy.

What if you rev the engine a bit. To 2k or so. Still dimming? As much??

Which JBL amp? GTO601.1? BP600.1? the newer CS series? and whats your car model?

I have a 1999 chevy blazer and I don't know what my alternator is rated at, any idea where I can find out that info?

IIRC...I think its 100A alt...the maximum current draw is only 78A...just listen to Jmac

I do have a used 1.2 F PG cap lying around but everyone on here and every other sound forum say caps are useless. Should I install it? If so, how? Any wiring diagrams or anything to help?

could it also be my power wire size? I'm only running 8 or 10 gauge power and ground wire?
