No, we need them to legally emigrate. They are here because there is a demand for their labor... but having them here illegally is not a good thing...

Exactly. They do a lot of work here, and so they should have to pay taxes and be a contributing member of our society, instead of a leech.

wrongggggg...ive been trying to get a job for like 3 months now. Theres TOO many of them here working for 4 cents on the hour.

plenty of people here are willing to work, just too hard to get a job because illegals have 75% of them covered in some aspect.

Umm if you where willing to work in the fields, or in construction, working as hard as they do then you'd probably have a job...

Of course getting educated removes the illegal immigrant population as competition for labor...

Your personal job hunt experience doesn't translate into a nationwide macroeconomic condition...

i understand the bottom part. But most illegals you see work in construction and are painters. And shit i would be willing to work hard. At least i would be makin some moneyz.

I am certain a portion of that is funded by boosters....and I am sure most states are like that.

Well if makes you feel better I've been looking for a job for over 2 months and I just graduated from college with a B.S. in business admin and finance... of course I've turned down a couple offers but anywho....

Well... look at it this way. You own a business. Your goal is to make money. You can hire A) An american, who wants $X.XX per hour, or you can hire B) An illegal immigrant, who WANTS to work for less than half what potential employee A will work for, be it minimum wage or whatever.

Who do you hire? If you say the American, you're a liar.

Oh, and even with all the mexicans taking jobs here in louisiana, I still managed to score 2 jobs!

Remember that unemployed people include those who are between jobs and such... so it's not like these 4.6% CAN'T find jobs... it will likely be and entirely different 4-5% of the population 6 months from now...

Money is fungible.

So money given by boosters and alumni go to certain things that the state would otherwise pay for. It may be football coaches, it may be teachers, it may be a new student union buildng.

i know what ya mean and i understand it. Its just messed up and we should try more to keep illegals out. I mean we can have 50 billion soldiers in iraq for no reason but we cant keep illegals from jumping a fence?

And about Iraq and illegals and all this is what I think:

Fuck the middle east. We took out Saddam, so leave em alone. If need be, we will go and kill the new leader. Lets bring our soldiers home. We need to kick out ALL illegals. If they want to come here and make money, they can go through the same process of anyone else who has legally emigrated. They can pay taxes on that money they make, too.
